If you don't find a tour buddy for Village Italy and travel back and forth, I can tell you it is pretty straightforward, altho it may not seem like it! I did Village Italy with my brother and SIL, but I traveled to and from Italy on my own. I'd be happy to help you brainstorm as would the others on this forum.
This was a really fun tour with a lot of different group activities including tastings and art/craft demos.
By the way, in 5 Rick Steves tours almost none of the tour group members were aware of the forums!
