Travel books on Bologna and Parma

I have looked and have been able to find only a few travel books on the Bologna and Parma area. The one with the best reviews is almost 10 years old. Rick Steves does not cover in his Italy book. Any suggestions on books or obtaining information on the area woudl be much appreciated. We do our trips ourselves and I usually do quite a bit of research. Thanks so much

If you go to Amazon.com and search fro travel books you find many. Emilia Romagna is covered well as well.

I have used Lonely Planet, Blue Guides, Michelin guides, among others. If I plan to take the book with me, I order it in e-book format. As previously noted, Emilia-Romagna is well covered, outside of the RS product line.

In that area I rely on my Lonely Planet and my Cadogan. The Cadogan has sent me to a number of good restaurants and sites.

I go to youtube and watch videos. I have changed my mind a few times about where to visit after seeing them, both pro and con.

The tourism board of the region of Emilia Romagna has some excellent English language resources posted on its website, and they have the advantage of being free. I don't know how to add a link, but it should be pretty easy to find. We used them - as a supplement to the Lonely Planet guide - to plan our trip to the region earlier this fall. The materials on suggested walking tours in Bologna were particularly good.

Here are the links Mary Sue discussed.

For anyone else wondering how to put links in posts here, just copy the URL, and paste it in your reply. A few years ago it was more complicated, but one of the great things about the Forum's software redesign was that it made it much easier to post URL's.
