Roberto:So I see the Volabus airport to Brignole and Principe train stations schedule, and presume the reverse is similar.Any idea about the train schedule? On the last page, under Trenitalia it says the nearest train station (presumably Trenitalia )is a regular bus sevice away.I assume that the trains from the station itself are of a local viariety(AMT?)and thats why I couldnt find anything under Trenitalia. It does metnion(under Handy and Suitable)that the AMT is a 60 min trip.( Whatever that means.)Taxis look viable. Thanks

There must be some glitch in their English version. I read the Italian version. The Volabus ride to Brignole station is 30 min. It costs 6 Euro. ATM is the city bus company in Genova. With the Volabus ticket you can ride an additional 60 min. on any bus of the ATM city bus/metro network (if you need to take a bus somewhere else in the city or around there). ATM has nothing to do with trains. It runs only buses and the subway. Once at the station (PP or Brignole doesn't matter, since virturally all trains stop in both) if you need a train you'll be traveling on a Trenitalia train. To see the schedules for the trains use www.trenitalia.com. Enter Genova (Porta Principe or Brignole) in the origin station and which ever destination in the next box. Enter date and approx. time (enter 00 for all solutions). Consider that if you enter a date too far ahead the timetable may give you no answer. Just use a date next week or so. The timetable doesn't change much in summer.

To clarify: the reason you can't find trains between the Genoa airport and Genoa's train stations is that none exist. You have to take a bus or taxi from the airport to the train station of your choice (as said above, Genoa has two).

Harold is correct. There is no train. Many airports in Italy or elsewhere for that matter are not serviced by trains so you cannot make the assumption that a train is available.
