Hello We are a 70 year old couple returning to Itlay and have some mobility issues with painful knees We are flying into Milan and planned to train it to Stresa and rent a car to travel to our hotel in Laveno Mombello We have jusr heard that the roads around Lake Maggiore can be treacherous and wondered if the plan to drive is the best one We can still change the itinerary and go to Turin and Geneoa before going south to Lake Bracciano and going home from Rome We like to travel as a native would vs tourist having been to Italy several times Thank you
