I am looking for follow-up ideas afterspending time in Tuscany. I have 5 nghts left. Want to go south or west, would I actually have time to do Croatia. Rome already taken care of, Wonder about Naples/Sorrento also. Any thoughts. Grazzie Barb
It's hard to know what to suggest without knowing where else you've been. If you did go to Croatia, you could head east from Tuscany to see Venice and some of the smaller towns around it. I've never been south of Rome, so can't comment on that. If you go north or east, Lucca is a fun stop on the way to the Cinque Terra, or even go further to the area around Monaco and Nice. A lot depends on where you will fly out from.
Sorrento and the Amlfi coast is wonderful but since you are already in northern Italy I would go to the Ligurian coast - the Cinque Terra, Levanto, Portofino etc.
Depending on what you like to do..it only takes about 5 hours to drive to Venice. Also, the Adriatic coast is so beautiful...and Ravenna and the mosaic is stunning! But you CAN"T miss Venice, if you have the extra time!!
