Just wondering if anyone traveling in Italy are experiencing disruptions in travel plans?
We were there last month and had no issues at all.
What kinds of disruptions and where were you referring to? That’s a very general and broad question. Many things can derail one’s travel plans but in 25 years of traveling to Italy and also living there I’ve never experienced any sort of disruption, in Italy, at least, that would cause issues. The only time I had an issue was way back in 2003 or so when I was passing through Heathrow and all flights were delayed by several hours because of an impromptu air traffic controllers strike
The following travel advisory for Italy has just been issued:
Popular and famous places in Italy are very crowded. It'll be even more crowded this year, so book things early and be ready to share space with a lot of other tourists. It will be hot during the summer months. The gelato is still great but you'll need to eat it quickly before it melts. Keep your wits about you and you'll be fine.
I think David just made that up but it is fairly accurate. It will be hot and crowded. And little has changed from five, ten years ago. I think you will be fine.
