Travel advice Atlanta to Ischia

Hello, we are traveling to ischia from Atlanta the first week of April for a conference. Flights from Atlanta want us to go to Paris first then connect to Naples. After that it looks like a bus to the ferry.

Would it be better to fly Atlanta to Rome then take the train to Naples? Would we take the Leonardo train from the airport to Termini to Catch the train? How hard would that be for people with only our Italian survival phrases?

How far is it from the train station to the ferry in Naples? can we just take a cab?

Thanks in advance!

I would recommend flying into Naples airport as there is a bus that will get you to the ferry terminal. As you exit the terminal, the Alibus is to the left near the McDonalds (if it’s still there). The journey is inexpensive but longer than a taxi. Ferry ticket offices are not very well marked, but a short walk from the bus stop. Give yourself plenty of time. Caremar is one of the ferry companies and you can google to find an approximate schedule to Ischia. The journey is about an hour, but if the weather is good, you will not mind it as the scenery is lovely. Ferries charge extra for luggage so don’t be alarmed. If you have time while on Ischia, take the public bus that travels a circle of the island. Beautiful scenery and charming villages - and tons of spas! Good luck.
