Trastevere Secrets

Does anyone want to share their favorite places for good food (mainly pasta) in Trastevere? I want to eat at some hidden spots, places that I don’t need to wait in line for ever. I am up for making reservations as well.

Anyone want to help a fat boy out LOL!!

Thank you all

For some fresh sweets (tarts, cookies, biscuits, pastries) visit Biscottificio Artigiano Innocenti. While following the RS Trastevere audio tour, I opted for the detour and tried a few of the fresh baked cookies. After my tour, I backtracked and got a few more. Mrs. Stefania was very friendly and accommodating. I mentioned that she was on the Rick Steves audio tour and she pointed to a picture on her bulletin board. She and Rick posed for a picture on one of his visits.

I just came back from a week there. It was fabulous and not as crazy as across the river in the old city of Rome.

My 2 local resteraunts (no crowds) are:

  1. Osteria il Botticelli Roma,
    Vicolo del Leopardo, 39a

  2. Il Tarallo,
    Vicolo della Scala, 3
