We are leaving on a cruise from Rome in May 2025. Prior to that, we are planning on staying in the Trastevere area for a few nights. Any recommendations for a hotel or b&b would be greatly appreciated.

$250/night in Rome city center is kind of tough to find in May, especially considering that 2025 is the Jubilee year.
Try Hotel Trastevere.

If you're looking for basic accommodations in Trastevere at reasonable cost, you might have a look at this - https://www.casasangiuseppe.it/ . I stayed there a number of years ago and found it to be clean and comfortable, but certainly not posh. Hopefully that hasn't changed. As I recall, there's a street market held periodically at Piazza Trilussa, which is a short walk from the hotel.
They provide some English translation on their website, but part is still in Italian. Use Google Translate if necessary.
