This hotel is recommended in Rick's book, ROME, (2025 edition) for the Trastevere neighborhood. Rick doesn't show that San Francesco offers a discount. However, I wrote to the hotel (as Steve recommends) to ask about booking direct and pricing. Ana at the San Francesco offered me the Rick Steves discount of 10%. Maybe this has only been recently negotiated, but in any event, if you plan to stay at the San Francesco, ask for the discount.

I stayed there in June 2022 last and it was very reasonable for Trastevere at the time. No longer.
No wonder the hotel is so pricey now. Rick Steves blessed it with his magic touch.

Any tips on traditional restaurants in your hometown of Florence or our car loop through rural Tuscany -- staying in Montepulciano? Or for that matter, in the Trastevere district?
