Trastevere Food Tour

We're thinking about taking the Eating Italy Trastevere Twilight Tour in October. Searching around the forum (not that Forum!) I see comments on the Testaccio Food Tours but not so much on Trastevere. Can anyone recommend a good one (Eating Italy?) and provide some info/details on the what and where?

The Eating Italy "Twilight Trastevere: Timeless Traditions" tour was one of our favorite tours, in June. I highly recommend it.

We did the morning Trastevere tour which was wonderful, I think the pm tour would be as well. I do know same guides do both tours

I'll be following this, as I will be staying in Trastevere early October. I was thinking of exploring Testaccio area anyway, and this may be a good way of doing that (assuming reviews are really good!).

This is for Trastevere, not Testaccio, but I'll let you know how it goes!

understood :-) but looks like same company, etc, so will be informative in any case.

Thanks!

We also did the Trastevere Twilight tour (2016) through Eating Italy. We really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend.

Great tour but don’t do it on a Friday evening as the best food (in the Ghetto) won’t be available as it’s Sabbath.

Yes, both tours are great! Day or night, pick the one you want as they are all good. Have done several other tours with the same company in other cities and enjoyed them all! Ok, maybe Testaccio was the fav, in the am.

We did the Twilight Trastevere Food Tour through Eating Italy last October. We had such a great time! It ended up just my husband, me and the tour guide. He took us to places we never would have found on our own and it was so nice walking around Trastevere. The food was delicious (and plentiful!) and our guide was entertaining and knowledgeable! We really enjoyed the evening and I would highly recommend it!

I did both. They were both good tours and I would recommend them without hesitation. I think the Trastavere tour was best though. The food was better overall, and I think it kind of hits everything you’re looking for in a tour like this. The Testaccio tour was maybe a bit more interesting as a tour of the neighborhood (personally found the history of Testaccio as a place to be very interesting and reminded me of south side Chicago.) The tour was still a bit new, and that may have had something to do with the lesser (but still good) food experience. Just not as well oiled as Trastavere. Best gelato on Testaccio tour though! There’s a bit of information overlap between the two, but they offer different experiences. If you’re planning on visiting Testaccio, this is a good way to do it.

We're booked for the Eating Italy Trastevere Twilight Tour later this month; I booked based on reviews here and other boards.
