Looking for recommendations on places to stay in the Trastevere neighborhood of Rome this July (moderately priced or a screaming good deal). Wonder if anyone's stayed in any of the cross-pollinate apartments in this area and can vouch for them.

You didn't specify what you consider "moderately priced", but July is peak tourist season so the costs are going to be higher just about everywhere. Be sure to have a look at their "Special Offers".
The Hotel is very comfortable, the staff wonderful and it's in a very convenient location close to Piazza Trilussa.

I have not been to Italy other than on a cruise yet, ( going in May/June) so I can't answer your question. But I do know the answers are in the archives because I have already asked about cross-pollinate as we are using them in Venice and I remember reading about staying in the Trastevere. Maybe check out the archives.
