Trash situation in Sorrento

I currently live in Germany and have heard plenty about the trash crisis that the Naples area is currently experiencing. Does anyone know if Sorrento is being effected by this? I am going the first weekend of April and do not want to be surprised once I get there.

Thanks

There have been numerous posts on this site about the Naples garbage crisis. I cannot recall any that indicate that this situation has spread to Sorrento. I did a search above for the word "garbage" and it came up with 71 threads on the subject. I read a few of the more current threads and I did not see any indication that Sorrento is part of the garbage crisis in Naples.

...love Heidelberg! Last summer we heard about the trash situation in Naples as well. We were staying in Sorrento which caters very much to tourists. No problem whatsoever. Have fun in Sorrento, it's beautiful. Check out Caruso's restaurant in the main square. Fabulous for lunch. Dinner is pricey and formal.

We stayed in Sorrento in October and there was no trash issue. I think it's pretty much confined to Naples.

The EU issued a mandate to clean it up. Of course, who knows how far that will go...

Sorrento is fine though.

Another great restaurant was il Leone Rosso, Via Marziale, 25, Sorrento. It's on a side street very close to the train station. Indoor and outdoor seating, very, very good food at reasonable prices. You'll be fine dressed in whatever you are sightseeing in. My husband had a seafood platter that was heaven - everything on it absolutely fresh and perfectly cooked. I had risotto and it was excellent as well. Wait staff was friendly and a fair amount of Italians were eating there on our visit so not just a touristy place.
