Trapani Sicily accommodations help

Hello!

I'm new to the forum here and hoping someone could give some advice about where to stay in the Trapani area of Sicily for 2 or 3 nights next summer. My partner and I will be coming from Palermo in rental car and are interested in visiting the ruins at Segesta, some beaches (would love recommendations), the town of Erice, and exploring Trapani itself. Any suggestions for considersation as to where to make home base for 2-3 nights would be really helpful.

Thank you, G

We spent three nights at LA GANCIA and could not recommend more........facing the sea. Lovely breakfast.....they got us a car to drive us to out next stop near Agirigento and the driver waited for us as we had one of the best meals of our trip at DA VITTORIO...(we invited him to join us but he demurred)......

Trapani has fantastic restaurants, as well; I was not as enamored on Erice as much as I had been many years ago.....

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, ekscrunchy. I did read about La Gancia and it seems like a good choice.

The Rick Steves Sicily tour stays at http://www.lagancia.com. I agree with the previous poster that it is a nice hotel in a great location right on the water, breakfast is on the top level with a nice view, and there are many restaurants nearby. It is on the edge of a pedestrian zone. I would inquire about parking.

We stayed in Erice for three nights, but wish it had only been two. It can be seen in a half day. We took the cable car into Trapani and walked around. Since we visited both Agrigento and Selinunte we passed on Segesta. Since you will have a vehicle, we enjoyed both the Marsala and Trapani salt farms.
