I see on the Ministry of Transport website a Transporto Merci (freight I believe) 24 hour regional strike on 14 January and another national Transporto Merci strike beginning 16:01 on the 14th (24 ORE: Falle 16:01 del 14/1 all 16:00 del 15/1). The latter would presumably not affect me as I am ticket for an 0850 morning departure 14 January from Rome Termini to Verona on Frecciarossa.
Does anyone know if these freight strikes are likely to affect me? Thanks

Unless you travel on freight trains (which you absolutely should not) this will not affect you.

Right but isn't it possible that freight trains could be halted and block tracks? I hope not...
