Transportation to Naples International airport

We will be staying in Naples at the Grand Hotel Oriente near the Toledo metro stop and wonder what are the options to get to the Naples airport for the flight home to the US? Are there shuttle buses available or do we need to hire a taxi thru the hotel? What would anyone recommend? thanks...

Dave,

Ask your hotel to arrange that the night prior to your trip to the airport. They will know the best and most economical options, and they may have an arrangement with a particular Taxi firm to provide "flat rate" transportation for their guests.

I stayed at that hotel - in 1994! At that time, there was no metro stop near the hotel - I did a ton of walking.

Roberto has posted that the Naples airport is so close to the city that taxis are inexpensive, as well as fast.

I often take a taxi to the airport from the Centro Storico in Napoli, it's only a few minutes. There is also a bus that stops near the Stazione Centrale as well as other places to pick up passengers. Your hotel probably has the bus information as well as taxi info.

Your flight is likely very early in the morning as you will need to connect to some other European hub to catch the flight to North America.

A taxi is the best option. Early in the morning there will be no traffic and the airport is only 4 miles away from your hotel. A taxi can get you there in 15 min max. The predetermined taxi fare to the airport is €19 from Beverello Pier or from Piazza Plebiscito, therefore from your hotel, which is near that area, should be the same.
