I will be traveling to Naples after the RS tour in Sicily and spending two nights there. Have a 6:30 a.m. flight out on departure day and wondering if I will be able to hire a taxi so early in the morning. Also, what is the distance to the airport from the city center?

Yes, I had my hotel book mine. It takes roughly ten minutes to get to airport at that early hour, so no worries.

Hotel Piazza Bellini, which seems to still get recommended often. It was a fantastic location (walkable and close to archaeology museum if that's on your agenda) and had a great breakfast (don't know if you'd get to take advantage of that leaving so early, but if it's important to you, ask and maybe they can help out).

I stayed at Hotel Palazzzo Turchini during the RS Southern Italy tour in 2023. I stayed at the hotel two extra days. Like you, I had an early morning flight and the hotel arranged for a taxi. The taxi driver arrived on time. He handed me a piece of paper and started talking very fast in Italian. I realized he had given me a receipt with the fixed rate to the airport (which the hotel had already told me about). He was very courteous, drove safely, and when I handed him the cash, he gave me exact change back. The ride was very short, maybe 10-15 minutes.

We also had our hotel call us a taxi, and when I asked the front desk how much it should cost to go to the airport, they told me it was a fixed rate and it was! I just can't remember how much it was. Talk to the hotel the night before and they can arrange it for the early AM.
