Transportation/time constraints from Naples Beverello to Napoli Centrale train station

We will be traveling to Italy late July and will be coming from Ischia by ferry to Naples Beverello arriving around 12:35. We will then be traveling to Rome for one night. The next train to Rome at Napoli Centrale train station is at 13:21 to Rome. Does this time frame give us enough time to take this train? Otherwise the next train is not until 15:27.

I've read there are taxis to take us to the train station and there is also a tram. Which would be the most efficient way to travel if we take the earlier train on a time crunch. We will have one larger piece of luggage and the 3 carry-on type luggage.

Which date in July?

There are 2 train companies
Trenitalia and ItaloTreno
And usually multiple trains each hour
Where are you looking at train schedules?

Schedule may not be complete yet for July as well although i just checked random day in July on Trenitalia and ItaloTreno see multiple trains each hour

Without your actual date I can't double-check Trenitalia schedules but did you try Italo? Using a random date (sooner than July) I'm seeing trains from Naples to Roma Termini at 13:20, 13:35 and 14:20

FYI: Italo is a private rail company that serves mostly the larger cities via 'fast' trains.

It would take you about 15 minutes to get there by taxi, and about the same time using the metro. But I would take a taxi.

I do not know what source you are using for trip planning, but between Trenitalia and Italo there are multiple departure per hour, so you have a lot of choice. When is your travel day?

In October we took the shuttle bus from the airport to the ferry ports (the first stop on the bus is the train station, Napoli Centrali, then the first ferry port stop is for the regular ferry to/from Ischia and Procida and the 2nd stop, Naples Beverello, is for the fast ferry to/from Ischia and Procida). We took the fast ferry to Procida. On the return we took the regular ferry back to Naples, then took the shuttle bus in reverse, going to Naples Centrali, so next stop was the train station. 5 euro each, I believe. The shuttle bus runs regularly but I'm not sure there is an exact time table. I think we waited ~10-15 minutes for the next bus, and the train station was another 15-20 minutes away.

Italia Rail
Doesn't run any trains, they are a reseller

July 30, 2026.

Trenitalia shows fast trains Napoli Centrale to Roma Termini about every 15 minutes 1:40, 1:55, 2:10, 2:30, 2:40 etc

Schedule will be updated by June 11-12- no need to purchase this far in advance (not purchasable yet anyway- I suspect this may be related to the track work further north)
