FYI for anyone traveling to Italy, there's a nationwide transportation strike planned for tomorrow, Tuesday, October 2nd. Trains, buses and metro will all be affected so plan accordingly.

Per this article in Italian, it appears that the Trenitalia train schedules will not be affected. And the buses, trams and Metros in all Italian cities will be affected but for various hours. Apparently they will be running during the morning and late afternoon rush hours, at least for a bit. Here's how to translate:
"Roma dalle 8.30 alle 17.30 e dalle 20 a fine servizio" means the strike will be in effect in Rome from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm and then from 8 pm until the end of service (meaning until tomorrow morning's regular start time)
