scotts,

It would help if you could provide a bit more information on your travel plans. For example, where on Lago Maggiore will you be going to?

The Milan address you specified appears to be a Hotel located near the Duomo (very nice!). The easiest way to get back to the airport from there would be a short Taxi ride to Milano Cadorna station, and then the *Malpensa Express (train). There are frequent departures and fare for either is about €10 PP as I recall.

For sightseeing tips, I'd highly recommend that you pick up a copy of the Italy 2014 Guidebook (also available in E-book format for Kindle, iPad, etc.). There's a wealth of information there that will help you plan your trip efficiently to see the sights that most interest you. Again, with more specific information it would be easier to offer more specific suggestions.

Cheers!

How to Look Up Train Schedules Online gives you the DB train schedule link and tips for using it. This will give you the schedules currently published through June 14, in a format that's easy to print, but not prices or tickets. There are direct trains from Milan to Stresa, for example, which take one hour, and direct trains between Milan and Venice that take 2.5 hours. Tickets are pretty cheap to buy there (e.g., $45-50 Milan-Venice), or you can lock in dates and times as early as three months ahead for a discount at www.trenitalia.com.

Schedules are posted beyond June 14, I just looked up several trips for July 11.
