Transportation Porto Venere, Italy to Rome

My family and I (group of 4 adults) will be leaving Porto Venere, Italy on April 21, 2018 after breakfast. How do we get from either of these hotels to Rome, Italy?

Thanks,
Theresa

Porto Venere is a town and not a hotel. Not sure what you mean, "How do we get from either of these hotels to Rome.." What hotels???

Getting to Rome from P Venere will be a little time consuming. The closest train station is La Spezia so you need to take an ATC bus (11P) to La Spezia Centrale station and from there a train to Rome. Roughly four hours and at least two train changes. If that is what you are asking.

With four people it would be easier and more cost effective to rent a car for this segment. Portovenere is a beautiful town. How are you arriving there?

We will be done with our wine/food tour and need to get to Rome to leave the next morning to USA.

The train is so easy and relaxing. Get four seats facing one another. I would pop for a taxi to La Spezia to make it easy with luggage.

I agree with Laurel that the best idea would be to take a Taxi form Porto Venere to La Spezia Centrale. As I recall, the Bus doesn't stop right at the station, so some walking would be required if you take the Bus.

Regarding the train from La Spezia Centrale to Roma Termini, the best idea will be to use one of the direct (no changes) trains, which have a travel time of about 3H:45M. There are several direct trains each day and others with multiple changes.

I checked trains for 21 April, and the best best is probably an Intercity train departing at 10:05, arriving Rome at 14:33 (time 4H:28M). At the present time, there are Super Economy tickets available for €12.90 PP. These will of course increase in price once the quota is sold out. You can check other departures on the Trenitalia website.
