Transportation options from Ventimiglia Train Station to Nice, France

Hello,
My family of four is looking into different ideas for transportation from the Ventimiglia Train Station to Nice, France (Old Town).

It appears that there is frequent train service, but wanted to see if anyone had any other suggestions including private transport so that we could see some of Monaco along the way.

Thank you!

I am sure there will be private driver options available.

The train stops in Monaco on the way so it's not hard to see some of Monaco if you're travelling by train.

You may need to store your luggage while in transit. I don't think the Monaco-Monte Carlo station has a luggage storage facility however you may be able to use www.nannybag.com or a similar service. Those services have arrangements with local shops or hotels for you to leave luggage while you tour the city.

Thank you, Badger.
The train looks convenient, but we will be traveling with all of our luggage so exploring options.

Thank you again, Roberto.

Will have to take a closer look at nannybag, interesting concept!

It's a 22-minute, one-way trip by train from the main station in Nice (Nice Ville) to Monte Carlo, so I would just day-trip from Nice rather than worrying about what to do with luggage during an in-transit stop or paying for a private driver. I'm assuming you aren't staying somewhere in Nice that has no provision for dropping off your luggage before check-in time.

Yeah, Monte Carlo is small, and more accessible site seeing wise on foot, the Prince Palace is on a hill with guards; I can't see hiring a private driver in Ventimiglia to stop off there on the way to Nice so the driver can show around while your luggage is in the car. Better to find time during your stay in Nice to do it as a day trip as it is only 20 minutes away on the train.

Thank you, Acraven & Jazz+Travels.

The train from Ventimiglia to Nice seems to be the best option, but we only have one full day in Nice so may have to save Monaco for another visit.

thank you to all for the replys and advice.

We ended up taking the local train from Ventimiglia into Nice and it all worked out, perfectly scenic (except for the tunnels).
