Transportation Itinerary -- feedback please!

Hi! Our trip is rapidly approaching, and I'm freaking out a bit regarding transportation. How does the following sound?

Airport to Rome - Leonardo Express

Rome to Siena – bus

Siena to Florence (day trip) – bus???

Siena to Monterosso - train

Monterosso to Venice - train

Venice to Airport – bus???

Susan, Leonardo Express to Rome Termini is Best. From Rome to Siena, the SENA bus is more scenic and the bus drops you off at the city wall which is closer than the train station. You catch the bus outside of the Tiburtina train station in Rome which is 4 stops from Rome Termini on metro line B (downstairs) to Rebibbia. You can take the train from Rome Termini as well. You can easily take the train from Siena to Monterosso. From Monterosso to Venice, there are several train runs that depart from La Spezia Centrale during the day. You just have to take the local to La Spezia to pick up the train. The 7:52am from La Spezia Centrale to Venice is the fastest run of the day (5hrs-25min) with one train change in Bologna to a Eurostar.

There is no train to the Venice airport. Great bus service, however. Both ACTV and ATVO bus systems have frequent service from the Piazzale Roma to the airport. The trip takes 20 minutes and the fare is 3 Euro. Be cautious if your plane at Marco Polo departs really early.

Susan, a second alternative, which is more expensive, and takes considerably longer than the bus, is to take the Alilaguna Boat. It takes 90 minutes and stops at various stops including Lido (there are several lines, depending on what area you will be staying - I paid 12Euro in 2007). Since my flight left at 11:30am, I was able to enjoy the boat journey to eek out as much as I could of magical Venice before returning home.

Have a great trip!
