Transportation in Sorrento

Hello, my wife & I plan to go to a recomended resturant for her birthday. Relais Blu down near the tip of Amalfi coast, overlooking Capri. We are staying at La Minervetta Maison, in Sorrento. Any suggestions on best car service there. The bus I believe let's you out with a 22 minute walk!!. They can call a service they use for 30 € each way? Maybe that's expected, but was hoping not to spend after tip, $100. The meal cost that much already/per!. Any more economical way that anyone has experienced, besides not going♡ Thanks

That works out to 3euro per km. I am not well acquainted with taxi fares but, it does not seem outrageous. Hopefully more frequent users of taxis can comment.

At the current exchanges rate 60 euro is US$66. Not sure where you get $100. Tip not necessary.

How often will you be celebrating a birthday in Italy? Save a few $$ somewhere else

taxis in Sorrento are notoriously expensive. many hotels have a shuttle service that lets you off at 'antica mura', near the cathedral. the city will not let them pick up or drop off passengers at any other location. Sorrento, therefore, is a walking town. I'm not familiar with your hotel or the restaurant but after 12 years of visits to Sorrento I know that there are plenty of wonderful places to stay and dine that are within walking distance of each other. Honestly, the best food and dining experiences I've had there are certainly not the high price, dress up places. Sorrento can be wonderful without being expensive.
