Transportation in Rome

We are staying at Marriott Grand Flora, what is the best method of transportaion to get to the Colosseum in the morning?
Where can I find information on public transportation and route and times?

Ask you hotel where the nearest metro station is and I would take that if you're too far to walk. The view of the Colosseum coming out of the metro is breathtaking!

The fastest way may be to walk down to the Barberini metro, take the A line two stops to Termini (direction Anagnina), change to the B Line, and then go two stops to the Colosseo (direction Laurentina). For more info on the metro, CLICK HERE .

Or you can walk out of your hotel, cross the street (Via Veneto), catch the #95/116 bus down the hill to the metro at Piazza Barberini (then do above),or change to the 52/53 bus to Piazza S. Slvestro, then change to the 85/850 bus.... which also stops directly in front of the metro... For more bus info in Rome, CLICK HERE .

I like the first option better!

I agree with Ron on taking the metro. You could also walk there in about 15-20 minutes. It's a nice walk and will take you past the trevi fountain.
