couldn't be easier, or more beautiful - take the boat! It's a bit of a hike from the terminal, but there are clear signs all the way and a lot of other people to follow. Unfortunately, the boat won't let you off near Sana Lucia but it's easy enough to catch a vaparetto from San Marco. Of course, there is the expensive way: private water taxi from the airport. Still, it's a beautiful first look at Venezia!

Only the Alilaguna boats and the water taxi have boats to and from the airport. Unfortunately, the Alilaguna does not have a stop anywhere near the Ferrovia (train station) stop on the Grand Canal. The water taxi will get you close but the fare will be 90E-110E. It's actually a private taxi that will take you where you want. I understand that you would like to be on the water but there is a very inexpensive alternative. Take either the ACTV or ATVO bus from in front of the airline terminal to the Piazzale Roma. Fare is just under 5E. The trip takes 25 minutes. From the Piazzale Roma, you can walk across the new bridge and on to the train station. No water but you can see a small part of the Grand Canal between the Piazzale Roma and the train station. The Piazzale Roma is on the Grand Canal. It's also a vaporetto stop. You can take the vaporetto one stop to the train station. However, this will take about 2 minutes and will cost 6.50Euro.

As mentioned, there are two ways to get from the airport to Venice proper on the water. Airport docks are about a 10 minute walk from the main terminal. The private water taxis which rather expensive, but more reasonable if you have several adults in your party to split the cost with. the price about 115 euro is for the trip not per person and most taxis can hold 6-8 people with luggage. the other way is the Alilaguna shuttle boat. Price is around 15 euro per person. www.alilaguna.it The Alilaguna does run sort of close to the train station. You will want the Linea Arrancio (Orange Line) It runs from the airport to the Rialto and back. It cuts down the first major canal on the left after the older train station bridge and the stop is called Guglie. If you are trying to get to the train station proper, the bus to P le Roma will get you closer, but if you are staying in the vicinity that stop may be close enough. Disadvantage is that Linea Arrancio is not the main run and only goes from the airport after 08;00 and shuts down at 00:00. But it should be running in the busy tourist months. schedule http://www.alilaguna.it/it/linea-arancio/orario route map http://www.alilaguna.it/it/linea-arancio/mappa
