Transportation from train station in Venice

Any suggestions on how to travel from train station to Pensione Accademia in July? Walk would be nice, but luggage is a problem. Don't want to spend a fortune - any advice would be appreciated.

Yes, you can walk but it's really something going over the canal footbridges with luggage. If you are planning a 2-3 day stay, I suggest investing in a 24,36 or 48-hour vaporetto pass that you can get at the Hellovenezia booth along the Grand Canal in front of the train station. Or, you can pay 6.50Euro for one ride on the vaporetto. Take the #1 or #2 vaporetto from the Ferrovia stop (train station) to the Accadamia stop. The #2 is more of an express (fewer stops). It will take about 30 minutes on the #1 and 22 minutes on the #2.

I stayed at the same hotel last year and it was very easy to get to. Way too far to walk though with luggage. Once you arrive, go to the vaporetto stop and get a ticket for the vaporetto that goes down the Grand Canal. Single trip isn't good value - get one for a few days - it's worth it. Take the vaporetto to the Accademia stop and as you alight at Accademia turn to the right and take the first street, Campo de la Carita - go to the end and you come to a small canal. If you look across the canal to the right you will see the hotel. Go down to the first bridge and cross it and there you are! Type 'Albergo Accademia Villa Maravege' in to Google maps and you can see exactly where it is. The ride on the vaporetto is a wonderful introduction to Venice - it's breathtaking. I also loved this hotel, hope you enjoy it too.
