What form of transportation would you recommend for traveling from the Rome Airport to our hotel?
and the hotel?
and which Rome airport?
As mentioned, it may depend on the location of your hotel. If it is within the Aurelian walls, taxis from the official taxi line at the FCO airport are a flat fee to your hotel. That would be easiest. Or you could take the Leonardo Express train to the Termini station and get a taxi from there.
If after an international flight and if your hotel is located within the Aurelian Wall, then I would advise a fixed price taxi as CJean mentions. If you want anything more specific you need to provide more info.
I always use the Leonardo Express. I find it quite easy to purchase the ticket and jump on vs. finding a taxi. That said, it would help to know where your hotel is.
Taxi is fixed rate 55 euros
No tip needed
Go to official taxi rank in front of terminal
Do not go with anyone offering a “taxi” outside of the official line
All taxis are required to accept credit cards but confirm with driver that their machine is “working“
Or pay cash
Hand the driver your destination address on a slip of paper
I was in Rome in October and took the 30 minute Leonardo Express from FCO to Termini Station and walked the 10 minutes to my hotel. If your hotel is not close to Termini Station the Leonardo Express if fast but the wait in the taxi line from Termini Station to your hotel is over a hour long. Spend the 55 euros and have the taxi drop you off at your hotel door.
We’ve never waited more than a few minutes for a taxi at Termini
You must have hit an especially busy day/time
We always take a taxi from FCO to our hotel
