Transportation from Stresa to Malpensa

We are spending the last few days of our Switzerland trip in Stresa before flying home out of Malpensa.
Our flight is at 12:20 pm on a Tuesday.

The Trenit app shows a route involving a bus and numerous train changes to get to Malpensa. It also takes nearly 2 hours.

I have also seen old posts on this site giving the options of:
1. A train to Gallarate and then taxi to Malpensa or (More expensive and requires switching modes of transportation)
2. Taking the Alibus directly from Stresa to Malpensa. (Gets us there either very early or less than 2 hours before flight)

Has anyone actually done either of these options? Do you recommend either of them?
Or does anyone have any other thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

That's about it (in increasing price order):
1. Alibus bus from Stresa directly to MXP
2. Train from Stresa to MXP (with change in Busto Arsizio)
3. Train from Stresa to Gallarate, then taxi from Gallarate to MXP
4. Private car with driver

I think they are working on the railway between Stresa and Arona (north of Gallarate) at the moment, so in that segment train service may be substituted by bus.

We were in Stresa in May and took the direct bus to the airport. They run 4 to 5 times a day; ours made no stops and went directly to the airport. It was fast and inexpensive. You do need to get tickets in advance, however, as they base the size of the bus on the number of passengers.

Here’s the Alibus schedule
It runs several times a day
Looks like the 9:30 bus would work for you-arrives MXP at 10:25

Ooops read your flight time wrong
You’d have to take the 6:30 bus-arrives 7:25
That gives you time to have breakfast before your flight

As said above it is fast direct and inexpensive
Also reliable

A few years back,I I took this bus to Stresa. I believe I rebooked it, but I can’t remember for sure. It was super easy though. I was travelling solo and a bit apprehensive about taking it, but it turned out great.
