Transportation from Sorrento to Assisi

Can anyone tell me how long the train from Sorrento to Assisi might take? I know it will be a few trains to get there but is it feasible for one long day of travel? Thanks for your help and suggestions.

Sorrento to Naples (this is where you change from the Circumvesuviana to Trenitalia trains) takes about 30-40 minutes.
Then you walk next door to Naples Centrale to Assisi take 2 trains 4 to 6 hours depends on what time of day.

You can search the schedule from Naples on trenitalia.com.
Someone may have the link to see the schedule for the Circumvesuviana trains from Sorrento to Naples.

I do this every year. But, I do it the end of June, beginning of July, so your train schedule might be different. I take the Freccia at noon from Naples to Roma Termini and the Regionale at about 2:30 which arrives in Assisi at about 4:30. Easy. It's possible to go earlier, of course. Regionale trains to Assisi are not very frequent so check trenitalia.com for schedules. NOW the downside: For the past several years the train to Assisi is the furthest track from anyplace in Roma Termini. It's a very long walk (good pavement though for your rolling suitcases). It will take you maybe 10-15 minutes if you walk quickly. I just think of it as penance for my sins. :)
