Transportation from Rome to Montepulciano

We are two couples flying into Rome from the US in May. We are spending our first week in a B&B in Montepulciano then on to an AirBnB in Forte Dei Marmi. Any advice as to where to find a private driver to each of these destinations? We don't really want to rent a car and make the long drive to Montepulciano after an overnight flight.

Any advice appreciated.

However a car would be very useful in those locations
Public transportation is very limited

Those are not locations that should be considered without having a rental car.

Obviously you can hire a private driver from Rome to Montepulciano, but it is almost 3 hours drive, therefore the cost for 4 passengers (likely on a minivan) will cost at least $400. But once in town you will be stuck for a whole week in a small town that can be visited in a few hours, unable to visit the many towns in that area.

If you don't want to drive upon arrival, you can rent a car in Chiusi (reachable by train and a short distance from Montepulciano) and rent from there (there is Avis-Budget in Chiusi, however it's a small office, so they close Sat afternoon and all day Sunday).

You will likely need a car also at the Forte, unless you plan to just stay at the beach every day and walk around town.

Be sure to check the hours-in addition to closed on Sunday and noon on Saturday they are closed weekdays mid day 12-4 ish

Make sure all drivers have an IDP-required by law and we have been asked to show it, seen others turned away without it
Get it before leaving US at your local AAA

Check the parking situation at your lodgings
Do your homework on driving in Italy-ZTLs, tolls, parking and speed cameras
Familiarize yourself with the road signage

We always book thru AutoEurope.com- see what they offer
( if nothing shows up you probably have put in a pick up/drop off time when the agency is closed

We always add Full Insurance/No Deductible for peace of mind

Make sure you choose a car large enough for 4 plus luggage -trunk space is usually very small in European cars
