Would like some recommendation to best way to get to this hotel near the Colosseum from the airport. Hotel stated they have a shuttle for 70 euro. Is there a cheaper way to go that is convenient? Thanks

Take the taxi - fixed rate 48 euro for 4 passengers and luggage. Get the taxi at the official taxi starter just outside the airport.

One option is to take the Leonardo Express from the airport to Termini station for 14 Euros.
That seems to be your cheapest bet.
How far away is your hotel from Termini?

It shows as a 10 minute walk from Termini train station. Very near Santa Maria Maggiore church. Just walk across the street from the train station to Via Cavour which is a fairly main street. But would depend on how much luggage you have and want to walk with it. Could also take the Metro to the Cavour stop and it's a 5 minute walk from there. if you are tired from the flight and just wanna get directly the hotel, the $48 taxi ride may be worth it.
