Transportation from Naples Ferry Port to Amalfi

I will be arrived at the Naples Ferry Port at 6:30AM on June 1st to go to Amalfi. Does anyone know how to get to the Sitabus from the port. How far it is? How far is it from the Sitabus location to the center of Amalfi?

IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE A SITABUS. IN FACT I AM NOT SURE THERE IS A SITABUS BUT THERE IS SOME KIND OF BUS (I WAS THERE IN 1994) AND IT THINK IT LIKE (A GREYHOUND HERE) BUS.

I know that the SITA bus runs from the Sorrento train station to Amalfi. Looking at the SITA bus site (www.sitabus.it) and selecting Campania, I can see information about Napoli. One entry say "Porto" but I'm not sure if this is it. CLICK HERE to see this bus schedule. It's in the left middle of the page. Looks like a really limited schedule.

You would have better options of either walking or taking a taxi to the train terminal, going downstairs and taking the very frequent Circumvesuviana train to Sorrento. Or, you can take a ferry or hydrofoil to Sorrento.

It would be better for you to take a ferry to Amalfi from the Naples Port because there is a road closure on the road between Positano and Amalfi. Go to Trip Advisor Positano Forum to read all the info about the road closure from "Amallfiagirl"

When I was in Amalfi in 1994 I took a train to Naples and a Sitabus from the train station to Naples near the port to another bus but i can't figure out what bus it was but it took me straight to Amalfi center.

linda - listen to Nancy. There are closures on the road between Sorrento and Amalfi. Figuring out the SITA bus (which usually begins from Sorrento) won't help you.

Take the ferry.

But Doug whatI am trying to tell you it was not a SITA bus that I took to Amalfi. But I understand what you are saying about the closure (if the SITA bus cant go to Amalfi (which it didn't) then this bus that I am talking about wont be able to. I guess I just have to find out another way. THANKS.

linda - I don't know what bus line you might have used in 1994, but the SITA line is the public bus along the Amalfi Coast. There are no others. There are private tour lines, but there's no way to determine which of these you might have used in 1994.

I don't understand why you are being so argumentative. Even if you could figure out which bus you used in 1994, it or its successor still can't leap over construction roadblocks on the Amalfi road.

Sorry you perceived my response as argumentative. I even said I understood what you were saying about no matter what bus it was I couldn't get through it. Thanks for your kind response.
