Transportation from Naples Airport to Sorrento-June 2nd, 2017

We are flying into Naples, Italy from the U.S. arriving around 12 p.m. on June 2nd "Republic Day" and need to travel to Sorrento to our airbnb. Does anyone have a recommendation for tired travelers to get safely to our destination with rolling luggage. Our host told us that public transportation will be very busy that day due to the national holiday. We are leery of trying to take the Circumvesuviana train due to the crowds, luggage and jet lag. Any suggestions for easier transport options for a party of 4 are much appreciated.

Check out www.curreriviaggi.it. They run a bus from the airport to the train station in Sorrento for 10 Euro per person. The bus leaves from outside the main entrance of the airport (ask at the information desk.) We did it last May and did not reserve ahead of time, and caught one as it was just filling up. The time will be longer than they suggest because of traffic (it was about an hour and a half on a Tuesday at noon) but it couldn't have been easier. We took a taxi to our hotel which would have been about a half hour walk. Our total cost for 2 people was about 40 Euro. Others suggest a private car service. We used the Rick Steve's recommended Rafelle Monetti for a day tour, but his people will pick up at Naples airport and deliver you door to door, as will others, for around 100 Euro.

Www.monettitaxi17. it. They will respond quickly in English to your inquiry.

Agree about Curreri bus direct from Naples Airport to Sorrento. Air conditioned, real seats. Luggage stored under the bus.

Another option: Hire a private car. Split between four people, you may find it is worth avoiding the crowds while you are jet lagged. We have used Amalfi Coast Destination Tours (you can find them on trip advisor) about 4-5 times on two separate trips for transfers and tours. From the train station to Sorrento was about 130 euro. I imagine the airport would be similar but they might charge more on a holiday.

I have had nothing but excellent service from them. But I have also seen a lot of recommendations on private transfers for that area. You can probably use the search function to get some other recommendations.

Another vote for the Curreri bus: very easy, very comfortable and you cannot beat the price. We've taken any number of airport buses in Italy and they've all been very nice.

We'll be taking the Curreri bus from Sorrento to Napoli Capodichino airport in a few weeks. I think 10 Euro pp is the price. And it still being off-season, the B&B owner in Sorrento said all we have to do is call the day before to set it up. Plan on taking the 8:30 AM departure, arriving at the airport at 10:00 for a 12:15 flight. We've flown out of there before and while it's old, believe it or not it's fairly efficient and not a real cluster-you-know-what like Roma Fiumicino.
