We are flying into Naples and need to get to our hotel (Hotel Starhotels Terminus
Piazza Garibaldi, 91, Naples, Campania, Italy). The info says that the hotel is near the train station and is 4.2 km from the airport. I emailed the hotel asking for advice on how to get to the hotel and they suggested a private transfer at $60 and that seems too much to pay. Can anyone suggest a cheaper way to get to the hotel.
Apparently there's service by Alibus that costs €5 per person.

Details are here, on the website of the Naples Airport (at least I think that's whose website this is):
We just took an official city cab--I think it was about 20 euro.
Thanks everyone for all the help I appreciate it
There are plenty of cabs at the airport. There is some chance the driver will try to charge you 2 Euros per bag, which is not permitted on a Flat Rate trip. You may wish to download the city's Flat Rate sheet (in Italian, but perfectly understandable.) So if he asks for more than a few Euros too much, you can choose (or not) to dispute it, BEFORE getting into the cab.
Note that southern Italy is a little bit undisciplined and ... entrepreneurial. I'm not specifically bad-mouthing Naples or the cab drivers. It's just the way things are.
Your question omits the month of the year (crowding) and the time of day (availability.) Indeed, we spent one night in Naples partly because our discount airline from London arrived too late to reliably transfer to Sorrento, our real destination. But we used the opportunity to see Naples the next morning, and go to the Archaeology Museum.

Yes, it hasn't been updated in many years.
