There is a train right to MIlano Centrale from MXP. Takes about an hour and runs about hourly. At Trenitalia.com input "Aeroporto Malpensa" as your departure point and "Milano Centrale" as your destination. I like the train as you do not get stuck in traffic, which can be horrible in the morning in Milano.

I like the Malpensa Express train, too. The trains to Centrale and Cadorna leave from different tracks, so if you go down the wrong stairs/escalator, you have to go back up.

I always like to ask the hotel for their recommendations. Often on their web site they will have directions for using various transit options. So without knowing where you hotel is, it is hard to give a response other than, "Take the train and then a taxi."

I agree, the Malpensa Express is a good option, but it's a good idea to know which station is closest to your hotel ( Centrale vs Cadorna)

Where are you staying?

Have a great trip!

Edit to add...

BTW, you can buy your train tickets at the airport for the Malpensa Express which travels every 30 minutes to/from the airport.

Up until this past October we always used the bus called the Milan Shuttle, which goes from MXP to the Milano central station. The trip usually takes about 45 minutes. We always stay at the great Hotel Berna nearby, so it is just a 5 minute walk.

This past October we used the Blacklane Limo service for door to door service. It was way more expensive, but we are 69 and 70 years old and dragging luggage is not as easy as it once was.

Buon viaggio,

We have taken the train and the bus. Both were easy and good. The bus is much less expensive.

The only downside to the bus is leg room. My legs aren't very long, but I still felt scrunched up in my seat. I'll probably try the train next time.

Thanks for the great responses. My hotel is Lancaster Hotel, Via Abbondio Sangiorgio, 16, Fiera Milano City, 20145 Milan, Italy. If anyone knows the area can you recommend which train would be closest?

The area is outside the centro storico/city center. You will probably be taking the bus and/or metro to get to the major sights. From Fiera Milano station to Milano Centrale is 27 minutes, according to Rome2Rio.com.

When I was in Milan I was near Milano Centrale, so took the bus to/from the airport. The bus goes to the train station.

Do not know what bus service is available for the Cadorna area

My daughter was recently in Milan and stayed near the Duomo area. She had no issues taking train from MXP to Cadorna
