Transportation from Marco Polo

Hi all,
You were all a great help on our last trip, and we are returning soon. We have booked an apartment that is across the canal from the Venice Santa Lucia train station. The last time we were in Venice we stayed at a hotel that arranged private boat transfer (after a short car ride) from Marco Polo airport to a private dock right down an alley to our hotel. If we are doing this on our own this time, what are our best options for getting to the apartment? Thank you for any insight!

Just take the bus to Piazzale Roma, as that is very close to where you’re staying.

Since your apartment is so close to the train station, it's also close to Piazzale Roma, where either the bus or a taxi from the airport would drop you. You should only have a fairly short walk. Do you have an address for your apartment building that shows up on Google Maps?

C. Jean, it shows directly across from the train station. We loved the private boat ride in the last time, but were taken to I think the back of the train station or near there before we met our boat. It looks like it’s possible to get a boat almost directly from Marco Polo?

The main advantage of where you’re staying next to the station (some would say the only advantage) is that you don’t have to take an expensive water taxi, or an inconvenient and also pricey vaporetto water bus once in Venice, to get to your lodging. If it’s where you say it is, it’s five minutes walk from the bus stop. Of course, you can take the taxi if you want and maybe it can get you a few steps closer.

As noted in the post I linked above- you can take a water taxi (shared or private) or a Alilaguna boat from VCE

Sounds like bus to P Roma then walk a little ways is your least expensive option

Agree 100%. Of, if you have a lot of luggage, just take a regular land taxi.
