Please explain low cost to get from airport to ship-is it necessary to prearrange?

I'm assuming you are cruising from the Maritima Terminal. If so, the lowest cost I'm aware of is the # 5 ACTV bus from the airport to Piazzale Roma and then take the "people mover" from there to the cruise ship terminal. Probably less than 10 Euro per person total. BUT, if like most cruisers you have more than just a carry on bag apiece, then the least expensive way may not be the best. If you have a good bit of luggage my choice would be to simply take a cab from the airport to the terminal.
