Transportation from FCO and Luggage storage in Trastevere

We will be arriving in Rome at 7am.
Our airbnb apartment in Trastevere is near the Piazza Santa Maria.
Looking for advice on best transportation method from FCO .
We cannot drop off our luggage at our apartment until 11:30
Looking for advice on what to do with luggage for a few hours?
Will hotels store our luggage for a few hours if we are not renting a room?
Thank you!

There are self service baggage lockers in Trastevere at, Via Della Cisterna 15b., near the Basilica of Santa Maria. Cost is €2,50 per locker. Looks like a hole in the wall but the centre of Trastevere.

Best and easiest way to get from airport to Rome is by taxi. Cost is a set rate of about €50 but make sure you go to the taxi stand at the airport, it is well marked. Or for a bit more you can have a car and driver meet you at the airport.

You can also take the train to Trastevere if the station is reasonably close to your apartment. Use google maps. Generally hotels are not eager to hold luggage for non-guests.

We took the train to Trastevere station and were surprised that taxi's were not there--or even came by often. Took 45 minutes to catch one. For the 3 of us taking a taxi wouldn't have been appreciably more expensive.

I've researched this for a similar situation, checking out of an apartment. Do a search on "luggage storage Trastevere" - you will get a number of locations, including the one cited above.

From FCO you can take the FL1 train to the Trastevere station, then take the 8 tram toward the river - look at a map, or get directions on a mapping site. Or a cab from the station.

Edited to add: Get one of the taxi apps to summon a taxi if needed - Free Now.
