We are leaving Riomaggiore for the Best Western Rome Airport. I went online and only found train options with three or four changes. We would like to leave late morning/early afternoon. Are there better options? Should we buy tickets now for a Wednesday trip?

I’m seeing a route that just has one connection. Riomaggiore to La Spezia Centrale; LSC to Roma Termini. It will be traveling down the west side through Grosseto, etc.
There’s a 12:57pm that will end at 5:17 pm at Roma Termini. Or a 1:27pm that ends at 6:03pm. From Rome Termini, you can take a short train out to the airport.
I would advise taking the 12:57 because if you take the 1:27 and there’s a glitch in the timing, you will need to take multiple trains to finish your route to Rome.

We are thinking of just booking the train from La Spezia to Rome Termini. With our luggage, I would like to leave Riomaggiore early and just wait at La Spezia for the direct train to Rome
Since we are staying at the Best Western FCO, I thought it might be easier to take a taxi direct from Rome Termini to the hotel rather than the Leonardo Express and a taxi from the airport.
Does this sound like a good plan?

Thanks for the help! It made our journey much easier knowing we had options. The taxi does no appear too much more than the express train for 2. Taxi 50 euros vs 32. + taxi to hotel
