Our plane leaves florence at 2:40 (14:40). Is it reasonable to leave Cinque Terre that morning and get to the flight on time? Any thoughts as to the best way to travel?

Can do. Train runs from the CT are about 3hrs. There are a couple of runs that are close to 4hrs. Thus, you will have to look at the train schedule and become familiar with the different train runs. Once at Florence SMN, Terravision has a bus to the airport. The trip takes 15 minutes. CLICK HERE for the schedule. This bus is actually a bus that goes between Pisa airport and Florence's Amerigo Vespucci airport with a stop at the Florence train station. I'm guessing that you can get on at Florence. If not, a taxi is about 20Euro.
