We have two cruises booked this year that end in Venice. We’re flying back home out of Marco Polo airport the day after the first cruise ends. We plan to spend several additional days in Italy and Switzerland after the second cruise so we’re trying to figure out how to get to the train station. Does anyone know how to get to both places?

Won’t your cruise company offer transfer to Venice or VCE?
Your cruise line should answer that question for you since they know where they are docked. Used to be you could walk a couple of block and but, I think, now the cruise lines are docking outside of the Venice area.
Depending on where you are going in Italy after your second cruise, after landing in Chioggia, you could get a train from Chioggia to your next place in Italy, and not have to go into Venice.
For the first trip, you'll need to get a private car or a bus.
You can also get a train from Chioggia to Venice via Rovigo...it will take three hours with one change of trains.
Check with the cruise line though.
The cruise line isn’t showing any transfers for the first cruise, and the second only has a transfer to the airport on debarkation day with a visit to Padua on the way. I was hoping someone had some experience with it.
