I need to get from the Bellini Hotel in Venice to the Star Flyer cruise which I believe docks in Port San Basilio. I know nothing of the area or how to get around there. Departure date from Venice to Athens is 6/20/07.
Jim, your post leaves too much unexplained. My google shows San Basilio a big quay or dock right in Venice. Is that so? You are going from Venice to Athens on a ship? Getting to the cruise ship dock from your hotel should not be difficult.
When I use Google maps to search for San Basilio I get nothing. I do see a Porto Marghera which may be the same thing but this is the reason I am confused. Since my initial post I have stumbled across another website which says vaporetto routes 61/62 & 82 will get me to San Basilio howeveer I am unable to eyeball Basilio on any map or as far as I am concern I'm still lost.
jim, best I can do with limited time...

jim, in the front of Rick's Venice book he has a drawing showing the cruise ship docks and docks for ferries to Greece as being at the western end of the venice islands, south of the train station. Does this agree with what you have seen?
I am OK & I solved the problem sometime back.
