Transportation from airport to San Silvestro boat stop

Hi Everyone, we are going to Venice next week. Can someone tell me which boat ferry to get from the airport to San Silvestro. Is the ferry considered a vaporetto?

Thanks in advance!

From What airport to what city? You could mean Venice, but there are other landmarks with that name in other cities.

Only the No 1 vaporetto stops at San Silvestro, and that does not go from the airport. Your best bet bet is to buy a combined Bus-Boat ticket and take the No 5 bus from the airport to Piazzale Roma and change to the No 1 vaporetto there. Vaporetti do not operate from the airport. The airport is served by the Alilaguna boats, and the closest stop on that side of the Grand Canal is San Stae or Ca' Rezzonico by the Alilaguna "A" boat. Either one would be a long, complicated walk to San Silvestro.

And just for reference
Water transport in Venice.
1. Gondolas. Only for pleasure, not for transport. 80 euro for half an hour for the boat, more for evenings.
2. Traghetto – big gondolas, two oarsmen, about ten passengers, for crossing the Grand Canal. Found at Rialto, San Toma and a couple of other places. Cost 2 euro per trip, can save a heap of walking.
3. Water taxis, which are like a floating limo, costs to match.
4. Vaporettos - ACTV. Are waterbuses, operate on a bunch of routes. Get the app Chebateo for routes and schedules. Vaps do not service the airport. Vaps are not water taxis.
5. Alilaguna ferries, service the airport, run from Marco Polo via a bunch of stops to the main part of Venice, Murano and Lido. They stop at some, but by no means all, vaporetto stops.

Perhaps Ask your lodging what are the best modes of transport. Have a great trip!

Have been to Venice several times and Sam is spot on about how to get to your stop. If you use GoogleMaps, you may be able to "walk" the route from the stop to the hotel before you ever leave home.
