will be staying at Target Inn on Via Modena...they offer a ride from the airport for E60. Any cheaper alternatives?? Thanks
oops. Leonardo di Vinci airport in Rome
Thank you so much. Our hotel is a "5 minute walk" from Termini station. Sounds like it will work for us.
I read here that Romacabs (on the web) are extremely reliable and very responsive to your inquiries. I emailed them, and within hours, they had emailed back (in perfect English) and we have made arrangements for a ride to and from the airport in Rome - for €45.
Safe travels!
Barbara,
I'll be in Rome in a few weeks and plan on using the train from the airport to Termini. I'd have to check my files, but I believe the fare is only about Eu$15.00?
If your Hotel is only a five minute walk from Termini, that would seem to be the most logical option. If your Hotel is listed in Rick's books, you might want to copy the page with the Map so that you'll be able to find your way to it without too much trouble.
Happy travels!
I use Jimmy tours and have found them really reliable and a no fuss transfer. They are 50Euro which isn't a as cheap as the train but I like the convenience especially after travelling 24 hours to get to Rome. If you are interested - http://www.jimmytour.com/
Barbara,
I've been by the Target Inn & you are very close to Termini. Once situated, Republica will be your nearest metro station, about 1 block away. If you want walking directions from Termini, drop me a line!
You are also 1 block from Musici Venezia, opera presented in Venetian costumes. If interested, pay the lower price and get there early for best seating! Their website is:

If you take the Leonardo Express train from FCO to Termini, it will cost about 11.50€. The trains leave from near the "C" Terminal & take 30 minutes, nonstop - a saving grace if you arrive in rush hour! The trains leave every 30 minutes from FCO at 05 and 35 after the hour.
I've had friends come and they have used roma shuttle with success - 50€ into town or back to FCO.
Note that many shuttle service drivers DO NOT speak English. Have your hotel info (name) written out in ITALIAN if possible!
Good Luck!
Barbara,
I have been to Italy several times and have used Terravision.eu. They are located in the airport and bring you right to Termini. the price is reasonable.
