I have been trying to research transportation from Agrigento to Ragusa. Is there a train or bus? If so, can you tell me the company's name? Are there any websites in English with timetables?
Do I have to take a train to Siracuse and use that as a home base to travel to Ragusa?

Last summer I took a bus from Agrigento to Siracusa and used Siracusa as a base for Ragusa and Noto. If you stay in Siracusa, try to stay in Ortygia (the old island part of town). I can give you more info if you want.

I am open to any information. If we stay in Siracuse we usual pick a hotel or b&b close to the train station. I would like the information about Ortygia.
I thought staying in Ragusa sounded charming. Does the bus stopped in Ragusa. If so do you remember which bus #? This is our first visit to Sicily. We have been to the boot and I found it easier to travel there. We will use the bus for transportation in Sicily. Thank you

There are a few different bus companies, one is Etna. In Ortygia I like Hotel Posta, reasonably priced with a nice breakfast. There's a market acouple of blocks away, mostly food stalls. A block in the other direction is a bus stop with a free minibus that goes around the island and then to the main bus and train station where you can take a bus to Ragusa, Noto or other towns, as well as to the archeological sites and museums. I'll check my notes on the bus questions and get back to you.

Thank you for your opinion. Can you recommend a hotel or B&B in Agrigento?
Do we take a bus or train to Syracuse? Sounds like we should stay in Syracuse and take a day trip to Ragusa?
