Does anyone out there know what kind of public transportation there would be from Trabia, Sicily to the Palermo Airport for a 6:30 am flight.

Fred, Trabia is 30km from Palermo. I'm betting that no public transportation is available to get you to the airport by 5:00 or so for your 6:30am flight. I can see the train schedule and the first train departs Trabia at 7:35 and it doesn't go to the airport. It goes to the central station. The bus schedule doesn't look that good either.
One option is a private airport transfer service. I see that Airport City Transfer may be able to do this. 84Euro for up to 3 people with luggage. http://www.airportcitytransfer.com/taxi-services/transfers-from-Palermo-Airport-to-Trabia-in-palermo.html
Your other option would be to stay at a hotel at the airport the night before your flight.
