Transportation for Lake Como

We'll be arriving from Milan and staying in Cernobbio, near Como, then going on to Venice, Florence and CT before departure back in Milan. Thinking of taking train to Como. Does anyone know if taxi service is possible(recommended?) from there to Cernobbio. Thought we'd train on to Venice and then get a rental for Florence and CT. Suggestions please? Thanks! Susan

There should be plenty of taxis at Como San Giovanni station. Only 3 to 4 miles to Cernobbio.

From Como to Cernobbio you can take a taxi for about $13 or bus C10 for about $2 per person according to rome2rio.com. We used the easy to find bus system that runs up the western shore when we were last there.

As far as getting a rental car for your journey from Venice or Florence to CT (I can't actually tell from your information where you pick up and return a car) I'd encourage you to think about using the inexpensive trains since parking and driving in Florence and villages of CT difficult. If you want to explore a lot along the way between these destinations then a car makes sense but if you are just getting from A to B to C and they are all well served by train then you might consider this as an alternative to driving and parking.
