transportation by private car

We've used Benvenuto Limos before with much success, but be aware, Carole, that these types of transfers are rather costly. For instance, we went form Naples' airport to our hotel in Sorrento, and it cost 110 Euros. Rome airport to Assisi is nearly 400 Euros. My advise is to only use this type of private transfer when it enables you to make another connection or event you want on time, or as a splurge reward at the end of a rather grueling day of movement. They're convenient, but molto caro!

Not applicable for this post but for anyone contemplating a private transfer from Naples Airport to Sorrento. In our experience the average cost is 80 euros for two people with luggage. You will find the names of a number of companies who will quote you on Tripadvisor.

Don't know if this explains the difference in price or if we were over-charged (ugh!), but we made a couple of stops along the way from the airport to Sorrento for photo opps and views of the bay. Like a guided transfer, rather than a taxi driver. Still, never hurts to get two or three quotes before booking!

Carole, is there some particular reason you want to do this by private car? It is much cheaper and just as easy to make this trip by train.
