We are staying at La Loggia della Luna which is within walking distance of the venice train station. What is the best way to get to the airport? Our flight leaves at 5:25 pm.
Take the ATVO bus from Piazzale Roma (which is possibly walkable from the train station - would be for me, depends on how much luggage you have or how well you are able to walk). You could take the vaporetto one stop from the train station to Piazzale Roma...or take the train to Mestre and from there take an ATVO bus on to the airport.

Probably walk to Piazle Roma and take a bus. Bus costs 8 euro, journey is about 25 minutes.
Walk looks like ten minutes approx.
There are two bus services, ACTV and ATVO. ACTV are regular commuter buses, not much luggage storage, ATVO are like a tour coach, luggage goes under the floor. They both run on a 20 minute timetable, so there is a departure every ten minutes.
You are on the other side of the Grand Canal from the train station. About 3/8 of a mile walk to Piazzale Roma. From there, either the No 5 Bus, or the ATVO bus to the airport. 8 EUR per person.
Can you buy tickets on the bus? Or do you buy them at the station beforehand?
@ Mark, better you start a new thread than piggy backing on a thread that has moss growing on it. Bugs the original poster (OP).
Buy on bus kiosk also available online but no price advantage. All Q&A Venice.

Can be combined with the vaporetto pass.
